October thing #2 The Lake with Baba and John. Baba and John go camping in Oklahoma so we took a little day trip over to visit. We rode on the boat and caught fish. We played in the water where we discovered Malachi's life jacket may do a better job of trying to drown him than save him. We ate lots of junk food and had a generally fun time.
October thing #3 Pumpkin carving time. I let the kids pick the design for their pumpkins and they helped pull the seeds and such out before I sawed away at them. Livi chose a kitty and Malachi chose the spider. Malachi is a bit of a pyromaniac and wanted the fire on all time. He currently wants to put the fire on the christmas candles too.
October thing #4: Halloween. We did Halloween 3 different times this year. First at the Botanical Gardens. Livi wore her pink kitty outfit that Baba special made for her (really, where else would you find a pink kitty costume). Malachi was going to be Bob the Builder but he decided he would not wear the hat, belt, or any tools so he was Bob on vacation instead. The next was Halloween on the Fayetteville square where Malachi DID wear the whole Bob ensemble but Livi opted for the hippo outfit instead. Holly reminded me that while trick-or-treating on the square, Malachi started walking very slowly while we were crossing a street. I looked down and his pants had fallen totally off his little butt and were around his ankles. We laughed a lot about thatone. And finally, trick or treating on Halloween around our neighborhood.
October thing #5: Hiking Devils Den on Halloween with ConCers. Malachi didn't like the pack that we brought to carry him in so he walked a lot of the trail himself and got carried old-school some too. Livi hiked nearly the entire trail by herself.

Nice kitty drinking the water. And you forgot that Malachi's pants fell down while crossing the street on the Square. I didn't even actually see it and that was a highlight for me. Cute kid.
Added. :) Thanks, Holly! That really was the best part and I totally forgot!
