November update

Either not much memorable happened in November or we just neglected to take any pictures of what did happen.
November notable #1: Livi had oral surgery and came home with 8 shiney silver caps on her molars and 2 white caps on her front teeth. She did wonderfully and is excited by her sparkley teeth. I was concerned about starting K with silver caps but our sweet friend Ivy saw them and asked her mommy if she could have silver teeth when hers fell out and then I felt better.

November notable #2: Livi is able to sound out words and write them down. This is crazy exciting for me. She's been so eager to learn to read and write. Here's her very own sounding out and spelling of Mom and Dad on our "we're thankful" board.
November notable #3: Grammy and Grandad came to visit for a few days over Thanksgiving. I have exactly 0 pictures of that because I just leave it up to Grammy to take roughly 8 billion.
November notable #4: The acquisition of 1 very sweet new neice, Blessed Aisling.

October update

October thing #1 Insect Festival: The kids love their bugs and we've been reading a lot about them so the Insect festival was a big hit. They especially liked the bee exhibit where they could see inside the bee colony. There really were a lot of neat things to see but it was crazy packed with school groups so we stood in line a long time to see what we wanted.

October thing #2 The Lake with Baba and John. Baba and John go camping in Oklahoma so we took a little day trip over to visit. We rode on the boat and caught fish. We played in the water where we discovered Malachi's life jacket may do a better job of trying to drown him than save him. We ate lots of junk food and had a generally fun time.
October thing #3 Pumpkin carving time. I let the kids pick the design for their pumpkins and they helped pull the seeds and such out before I sawed away at them. Livi chose a kitty and Malachi chose the spider. Malachi is a bit of a pyromaniac and wanted the fire on all time. He currently wants to put the fire on the christmas candles too.

October thing #4: Halloween. We did Halloween 3 different times this year. First at the Botanical Gardens. Livi wore her pink kitty outfit that Baba special made for her (really, where else would you find a pink kitty costume). Malachi was going to be Bob the Builder but he decided he would not wear the hat, belt, or any tools so he was Bob on vacation instead. The next was Halloween on the Fayetteville square where Malachi DID wear the whole Bob ensemble but Livi opted for the hippo outfit instead. Holly reminded me that while trick-or-treating on the square, Malachi started walking very slowly while we were crossing a street. I looked down and his pants had fallen totally off his little butt and were around his ankles. We laughed a lot about thatone. And finally, trick or treating on Halloween around our neighborhood.

October thing #5: Hiking Devils Den on Halloween with ConCers. Malachi didn't like the pack that we brought to carry him in so he walked a lot of the trail himself and got carried old-school some too. Livi hiked nearly the entire trail by herself.

September updates

We're lacking a bit in September. That was the month that morning sickness was in full swing and we did a lot of movie watching and falling asleep on the couch (okay, mostly the mommy fell asleep on the couch and woke up to find a destroyed house but happy kids).

September thing #1: Holt County Autumn festival. This year would be the last that we can make it for a while, most likely. Livi starts "real" school next fall so we made the trip. Both were in the baby show and on the float for the childrens parade. They ate lots of junk food, rode a lot of rides, and pretty much got whatever they wanted for 4 days. Livi was in the watermelon eating contest but she's too thorough of a chewer to win :)

Sept. thing #2: Bobo's 2nd birthday. Little handsome pants turned 2. In accordance with our birthday tradition, we spent the day doing the things that he loves. Fun City Pizza, pet store, toy store. He's the spunkiest, funniest, wildest, most destructive little 2 year old on the planet but he's also really loving and snuggly.

Sept. thing #3: More random funness: Malachi LOOOOVES sweet little Lucy. He likes to kiss her cute face.

Some changes

As you my have noticed, we've gotten super bad about updating the blog. With baby #3 on the way, time gets shorter and shorter and energy to do anything else but keep up does too. SOOOO, the blogs have merged and this will be the blog for the whole Brown crew now. Gone are the days of multiple posting for multiple kids!
To catch up, we'll do a condensed version since August.
August Thing #1. New (and final) baby on the way. Sonogram will be in January so we'll let you know which way the balance of the family will be forever tipped.
August thing #2: Malachi fell off the swing and made his face purple.
August things #3: Lots of playdates with friends while it was still warm:

August thing #4: Camping and hiking in a million degree weather at Petit Jean where a skunk joined us one night in the tent. It was still lots off fun and he didn't stinkify us but he did come back the next night for another visit but stayed out of the tent and let us take his picture...sort of.

August thing #5: Preschool co-op restarts. This year, Malachi has a class too. Livi loves it. Hers is all 4 and 5 year old that will start kindergarten next year so they're pretty much pros. Malachi stays with his class about half of the time. He loves crafts but doesn't usually make it all the way through games or story time. His class is all 2 year olds and it's a bit more like herding cats than a classroom. Still, you have to start somewhere and it's come a looooong way since the beginning of the year.

wedding

I don't care for weddings. You get in trouble if you're too loud even if it's because you're hot and thristy. This wedding DID have horses nearby, though so that was good and there was lots of chocolate on the table and that's good and we got to dance and that's always good.

vbs-part 2

clearly, it's not as easy for us little ones to understand exactly what's supposed to happen as it is the bigger kids but we DO understand how to throw wet sponges and hop to the oooh ooh oooh song.

VBS...day 1

New Springs and Oak Manor decided to do VBS together this year and it was super fun. This was my first year to really go to VBS and be part of the class. I got to be in the 2 and 3 year old class even though I'm not 2 yet and mommy got to be my group leader so I didn't have to leave her. There were 9 of us which is a lot for my age and mommy was really glad that 3 other people stayed to help her with us (thanks Trevor, Kendra, and Daddy). Even with 4 people and 9 kids, we were still a little wild and crazy. We got to watch a movie, make crafts, sing songs, listen to a story, eat snacks, and play outside. I did a pretty good job of listening and sitting in class and running around and eating in rec and snacks...I always like crafts.

Thanks for the stickers

Baba sent me and Livi a big book with lots of doggy stickers...you're supposed to put the stickers in the book but this is more fun:

Julia's mud

Julia invited us to swim at her house but we had some idea of our own involving making and playing in mud. I really love Julia a lot but I think all little girls that are not Olivia are called Ivy...pronounced Ibeee so when I got up from my nap and mommy said "Do you want to go to Julia's house to play?" I said, "uh huh...Ibeee" MOmmy said, "no, JULIA's" I nodded and said "Ibeee" and this continued for, well, it's still continuing.
