Faux Hawk

Mommy made me a great faux hawk last night during my sink bath.

My new wrap

Mommy found this thing on the internet that said how to make a new wrap for me to be packed around in and she thought it looked like fun so she made me one. Don't be too impressed, friends. It works great but there was literally no sewing and only 1 gigantic strip to cut. The rest is just figuring out how to wrap me in it. Julia's mommy, Laura, is the real queen of baby carrier making. She's a pro and her's are beautiful!

Potty chair

I made my first stinky in the potty. It was not intentional on anyone's part. I was just minding my own business without my diaper when I started to make my grunty, poopy face so daddy picked me up and stuck me on the potty and there you have it...my first big potty story

Mommy is particularly fond of how I put the alligator in my mouth and crawl around

Peekaboo book

My main man, Henry!!!

A VERY exciting thing happened a few days ago. My mommy and Henry's mommy set up a play date. Now, keep in mind that Henry and I are only 8ish months old so "playdate" is a very loose term. Still, we were at the same place at the same time. We still have to be very careful to make sure Henry doesn't get any germs so we mostly just looked at each other and we didn't really get overly excited about that either but someday, we will! He's doing great and while we were there, his nurse came to weigh him and he gained a bunch since last time so that's good news. His doctors finally found him some food that he is happier about eating (his mommy says it smells just like cake batter....LUCKY!) And if he keeps gaining weight pretty well, there is talk of untethering him from his oxygen. That's a day that we'll be excited to hear about. Please keep praying for Henry and his family.

My new book

Dr. Davis gave me a new book the last time I went to see him and I LOVE it! It's the first book that I've really felt strongly about. Thanks, Dr. Davis!

Livi's picnic

Silly Livi made a picnic and then tried to be picky about which foods I put in my mouth. You'd think that after almost 8 months, she'd know that I put everything in my mouth...not just what she wants.

On the Hammock

I like hanging out in the hammock with my Daddy!

Growl

Livi taught me how to growl like a lion and now I do it all the time. It's great!

Dr. Davis Update

I had an appointment with Dr. Davis (my pediatrician) today and he said I am a healthy, growing boy. I do have a follow-up EEG sometime later on because they said I was supposed to at Children's Mercy before I left. He said that at this point, if I haven't had any seizures, I probably won't ever again (unless I have a high fever and then they're possible).
I am 20 1/2 pounds (around 65th percentile) and 27 1/2 inches tall (more or less...I was pretty squiggly) (around 65th percentile again) so I'm averaging out.
I am pulling myself up to standing, standing supported with one hand and then letting go (I fall over almost immediately but I'm working on it), bouncing on my knees without holding on to anything, crawling super fast. I know my name, what the word "NO" means, who Mommy, Daddy, and Livi are. I babble a lot. I'm still super smiley and laid back. I'm still nursing but also love my big boy food. I have 2 teeth on the bottom and am working on my top 2. I really love to be naked. Livi is my favorite person in the whole world. When the front door is opened, I get excited and make a beeline for it. I do not like to nap anymore and try to put my paci in mommy's mouth when she tries to make me. My favorite toy is Livi's sit and spin. I like to watch it spin fast. I like to make Chloe growl and Jack avoids me if he can. I love kitty food and tried kitty poop this last week. I do not recommend it but will try it again, if I can. I have discovered the potty and think it is the best new toy in the house.

Much love to my faithful readers....the Pork Chop

Picnic

I had a little picnic at the park....Mommy and Livi ate at home while I napped so they brought food for me.
Main Course: cottage cheese and grapes
Dessert (mmmmm...fiber):
Post Dessert Snack (3 minutes later):
WHAT? I'm a growing boy...I need food
And then onto play time with Livi on the swings:

Practice makes perfect

I seem to have an innate love of music and rhythm. I keep pretty good time on my high chair and I'll stop mid-tantrum to listen to a beat or a song. Daddy's been putting the guitar on the floor for me to play with and I entertain myself by strumming for a long time.

Looks like trouble

Does this look like a disaster waiting to happen to anyone else? I went with my family to a farewell dinner and I was tired so Livi and Addy "rocked" me. shhhhaaaaaa...right! No one can fall asleep with that kind of crazy going on.

swimming

I love water. Mommy filled this thing in the yard that looks like a very colorful bathtub and stuck me in there with Olivia. It didn't take me long to realize this was probably the best thing in the whole world. Mommy only filled it up to where I could still crawl around without any trouble. AND THEN, she gave me spoons and cups to splash around with. I didn't even care that she put me in a stinking purple sunsuit because she made up with all the amazing spoons. I really do love spoons.

Getting some Vitamin D

Mommy let me play in the yard with only a diaper and 5 minutes later, she realized I was a getting a little pink already. In we went to slather on the sunscreen and a sunshirt but it was a glorious 5 minutes while it lasted.

Devils Den and my friend Paul

My friend, Paul, came to visit for a few days and we took him to Devil's Den. It was my first time to go too. I like being carried around in the baby pack and looking at new things.

Dear Grammy

Dear Grammy,
Mommy put this hat on me for church and I got LOTS of comments on how cute I was (even more than usual). You can see my teeth in one of them too. Mommy knows you're gonna love this. Love, Chi!

Stander upper pictures

I am already much better and quicker at pulling up to standing than just a week ago. I can use almost anything to pull myself up and sometimes mommy forgets how quick I am at pulling stuff off the "little table" So far, I've gotten to drink some coffee and lots of things of water and eat some coloring pages and crayons and lots of kleenex. I'm also taking walking with some help from mommy. I get bored though because, come on, I can get there faster if I just crawl.

I just keep going and going and going

Mommy felt that it was crazy appropriate that we got some energizer bunny ears at the Race for the Cure and that I liked them. She says that I am like a whirlwind lately. I DO like to move quite a bit and I really don't want to sit still long enough to do something silly like change my diaper. I've also very recently discovered that Olivia's room has A LOT of toys that my room does not and I can go in there all by myself. Also, I've decided that napping is a little over-rated and I'm sort of refusing a lot of the time. I keep mommy on her toes!

New Tricks

Yesterday, I pulled all the way up to standing all by myself. Look out world!!!
Also, Mommy forgot to say that we did the Race for the Cure Last weekend. We got tons of great stuff and Mommy entered me into the Crawl for the Cure. I was in the 9:00 race and I was the only one for a loooonnnggg time so they waited a little longer and then, at after 9, 2 more babies showed up so the competition was ON! Mommy sat me down on the start line and then walked to the other side. The problem is this....I don't really like for mommy to be that far away from me and I was already tired and hungry so I just sat on the start line and cried until Mommy came to get me and then I was okay. One of the other babies won but we still got a whole free box of Huggies diapers and several big packs of wipes and they took my picture a lot because I'm stinking C-U-T-E! MOmmy forgot the camera so we don't have any pictures. Silly MOmmy!
